The Westport Historical Society will hold its annual historic walking tour of Westport's Saugatuck area with residents Loretta Santella Hallock and Kathy Romano from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. Participants will meet on the New York-bound side of the Saugatuck train station.

During the one-hour tour, Hallock and Romano will discuss the area's past as a center of commerce and development, the origins of many of its historic buildings and the daily lives of Westporters from the early 1800s to present day. They will also share stories of growing up in one of the original Old Saugatuck Italian families, according to a news release.

Municipal historian Allen Raymond will introduce the tour with old adages of Saugatuck and stories about its colorful past. A reception will follow the tour at a local eatery.

Admission is $8 for society members, $10 for non-members. For reservations, call 203-222-1424 or visit www.westporthistory.org.
