The Westport Historical Society will have a Martin Luther King Jr. Day program for children ages 6 to 11 years old from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at the society, 25 Avery Place.

Westport artist, writer and activist Tracy Sugarman will share his artwork and experiences from the Civil Rights Movement, while Westport artist Elizabeth DeVoll will lead a workshop celebrating freedom, tolerance and harmony through games, drama, art and music.

Children also will have an opportunity to explore art from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds and make a 3-D peace sign.

Children should bring lunch; a snack will be provided.

The cost to attend the limited-enrollment event is $60, $50 for members.
