Westport Historical Society offers primer in political action for women

Women who want to make a difference in the politics of their communities can learn how at a "Your Voice Matters" discussion at noon Wednesday, April 2, at the Westport Historical Society.

The speaker will be Patricia Russo, executive director of the Women's Campaign School at Yale University and a women's rights activist.

Russo has 25 years experience in leadership roles in local, state and federal political campaigns. She served for 23 years as a member of Connecticut's Permanent Commission on the Status of Women, including eight years as its chair; as director of Southern Fairfield County's Centers for Planned Parenthood of Connecticut and was development director for the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport.

The cost of the event at the Historical Society, 25 Avery Place, is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers, and includes a catered lunch. For reservations, call 203-222-1424.
