Westport Colonial offers luxurious living

Construction was recently completed by Milton Development, a luxury-home builder in Westport, on a 12-room colonial house at 3 Turkey Hill Circle in the Greens Farms section of town.
The home awaits its first owner or owners, who will enjoy luxurious living in a spacious residence with a large, private yard. The realtor calls it a "transitional design between contemporary and traditional," which is in vogue. It has clean, open spaces and is definitely not a "cookie-cutter" colonial.
"This house is just a piece of art. It has beautiful lines. Every line is pleasing to the eye," said Jillian Klaff, of Jillian Klaff Homes.
The house sits on a 1.12-acre lot. It has a gracefully curved façade and a wide and welcoming bluestone path to the covered porch and into the dramatic, two-story entrance foyer which features an 11-foot ceiling. The remainder of the first floor has 10-foot ceilings; second-floor ceilings are nine feet.
The main house has 7,630 square feet of living space, with an additional 1,200 square feet in the full, finished, walk-out basement. Throughout the house there is random-width bleached oak flooring, including in the gourmet kitchen and butler's pantry.

The home's numerous large windows and transoms allow ample natural light to flood into the rooms. The interior of the house appears well lit in daylight hours. Most of the rooms do not even need electric lights to illuminate them.
The builder incorporated many attractive details in each room, from the high end millwork to the tile and stone finishes. That attention to detail extends to each of the five fireplaces, which have distinctive and different firebox patterns and mantles. In the living room, the firebox comprises yellow brick in a herringbone pattern. The great room fireplace box has a linear design. This room also has a wet bar with a Lagos Azul granite counter.
The other fireplaces are found in the library, which also has black walnut paneling on the walls and exposed beams, the master bedroom and there is an outdoor fireplace on the over-sized bluestone patio.
The kitchen features Viking appliances including a 48-inch six-burner cook top, a pot-filler, under-cabinet lighting and counters and large center island topped in Pietra Cordosa granite. The kitchen also includes a breakfast bar, eat-in area and a butler's pantry with a copper hammered sink and wine cooler.
A large mudroom, which has a natural slate floor, provides access to a walk-in pantry, a powder room and the three-car garage.
On the second floor, the master bedroom suite is at one end of the house for optimal privacy. It features a sitting room, his and hers walk-in closets, and a marble, gas-fueled fireplace. The spa-like master bath includes radiant heat marble floor, steam shower, jetted tub, double vanity, water closet, and a built-in make-up unit.
There are four more bedrooms on this floor. Two have their own full baths. The other two share a Jack and Jill bath. Each has its own walk-in closet. Also found on this floor is a laundry room, which can accommodate a washer and dryer of any size, and a homework center with built-in bookshelves.
The full, finished lower level of the house has several rooms including one which could function as a cabana, and one that has a rubberized floor and a mirrored wall that could serve as an exercise room. This area has a full bath.
