The Westport Arts Center has announced the lineup for its performing arts season, starting Sunday, Oct. 21, with a concert for two pianos with pianists Andrew Russo and Frederic Chiu.

Their performance, part of the center's chamber music program, will be conducted in honor of the 150th birth of Claude Debussy at 3 p.m. at Pequot Library, 720 Pequot Ave., Fairfield, according to a release.

Russo, known for his work in contemporary music, and Chiu, of Westport, will focus on Debussy's Impressionist music and extend that theme to American composers Philip Glass and Leonard Bernstein. Tickets are $25; $10 for students. A 10-percent discount applies for center and library members.

On Sunday, Nov. 18, the Juilliard String Quartet will play at 3 p.m. at the Seabury Center, 45 Church Lane. It will perform two of the late string quartets of Beethoven. Kate Remington, WSHU Public Radio's musical director, will serve at the event's emcee. Tickets are $65.

On Sunday, Nov. 4, jazz singer Giacomo Gates will sing his renditions of the words by poet, singer and author Gil Scott-Heron at 3 p.m. in a partnership between the center and Beechwood Arts, a Westport arts organization. Beechwood Arts' address will be released to ticket buyers. Tickets cost $75; $95 for the VIP hour starting at 2 p.m.

On Sunday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m., the Matt Wilson Jazz Quartet will perform in the WAC Gallery, 51 Riverside Ave. Tickets are $25; $10 for students. A 10-percent discount applies for center members.

The center will also have monthly free jam sessions led by Brian Torff in the gallery, where local musicians may come with an instrument and perform. The sessions are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursdays, Dec. 13, Jan. 10, Feb. 21, March 14, April 18, and May 9. Spectator tickets cost $15, $10 for center members and students.
