Weston resident Trevor Horton, 18, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday after he was stopped on Lyons Plains Road for having a tail light out.

The officer who made the stop allegedly detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed marijuana in a glass jar under the passenger's seat, according to police records. In addition, police said, a glass pipe and an apple that was modified to be used as a marijuana pipe was also discovered.

Horton was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Nov. 5.
