NEW CANAAN — A 29-year-old Weston man was charged with larceny after he allegedly stole five packages of nasal inhalers from a CVS store.
On May 22 around 9:30 a.m., police responded to the CVS on Park Street on a report of a theft of Benzedrex, a brand of nasal inhaler. The suspect, Ryan Burke of Brookwood Lane, took five packages of the item before leaving the store and driving away, police said.
CVS employees were able to obtain the license plate number, which they passed on to police.
Based on this evidence, including video surveillance, police had probable cause to charge Burke. On June 2, Burke turned himself in to New Canaan police on one count of sixth-degree larceny. He was released on a promise to appear in court on June 12.
