The Weston Kiwanis Club has donated more than $9,000 to Purple Heart Homes, the North Carolina-based nonprofit that builds new homes or modifies existing homes for disabled veterans.
The club presented a check for $9,298 to Purple Heart Homes during a ceremony on Jan. 11.
The money represented a portion of proceeds from the Kiwanis Reservoir Run, a fundraising half-marathon that took place last fall on Veterans Day.
