WASA to raise funds for dogs with lemonade/cider sales
Updated 4:46 pm, Wednesday, September 21, 2011
Westport Animal Shelter Advocates will host a lemonade and apple cider stand on Saturday, Sept. 24, to raise money to help homeless dogs in Fairfield County. The stand will be set up from 1 to 3 p.m. in front of the Banana Republic store on Main Street.
Dogs available for adoption will also be on hand.
WASA's most recent project was raising money to help install runs at the Westport Animal Control shelter. The runs allow impounded dogs to get fresh air during their time at the shelter.
The project cost a total of $30,000, and some of the money was raised by sales of WASA's Top Dog calendar.
Those interested in helping pour at the lemonade/cider stand or learning more about volunteer opportunities with WASA should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
