'Virtual Unreality' to be topic of Westport Library talk

New York University journalism professor Charles Seife will discuss the influence of big data and his new book, "Virtual Unreality: Just Because the Internet Told You So, How Do You Know It's True?" at the Westport Library.

Books will be available for purchase and signing at the free program on Thursday, July 10, at 7 p.m.

Seife describes tools for discerning truth from fiction online in everything from news coverage to Internet dating. He explores the Internet information jungle and how the digital world changes how we get information.

Seife is also the author of "Proofiness, Decoding the Universe, Alpha & Omega and Zero."
