The Interfaith Clergy Association of Westport and Weston will hold a candlelight vigil Sunday for the victims and survivors of the horrific shooting Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown that claimed 27 lives, 20 of them children.
The vigil is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Veterans Green on Myrtle Avenue, across the street from Town Hall.
"We are all shocked and saddened by today's tragedy," the Conservative Synagogue's rabbi, Jeremy Wiederhorn, who also serves as the president of the Interfaith Clergy Association, said in an email Friday to congregants.
"Words cannot express the depth of the pain that the families of the victims must be experiencing today," Wiederhorn said. "Our hearts and prayers go out to them."
