The Westport Historical Society is holding a fundraising auction of artworks from the 19th and 20th centuries donated by BNY Mellon Wealth Management from its corporate collection. Among the pieces for sale are landscapes by pioneering 19th-century painter Fanny Palmer, prints by 19th-century English artist Henry Salt, and other works. The live auction, conducted by Christie's, takes place Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Westport Country Playhouse.

. All the artwork is professionally framed and most range in value from $50 to several hundred dollars.

The auction will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the playhouse's Lucille Lortel White Barn Center, 25 Powers Court. The evening begins with a catered reception and a silent auction of the artwork, followed by a live auction of the more valuable items at 6:15 p.m. Reservations are required.
