Staples Tuition Grants, a local scholarship foundation, has re-launched its website with a new design that will make it easier for students to apply for aid and for donors to contribute.

The website -- www.staplestuitiongrants.org -- has been updated with new graphics and photographs and provides students with all the information they need to file applications online.

It also offers donors a secure method of making contributions in a few easy steps.

The nonprofit foundation's credo is that no Staples High School graduate should be denied a college education because of financial need.

Founded in 1943 with a $100 donation from the Staples High School PTA, the foundation over the past 70 years has awarded millions of dollars in grants.

Last spring, it awarded $314,000 to 30 members of the Class of 2012 and to 81 alumni attending colleges and trade schools.

Since 2007, applications to STG for financial aid have doubled, as has the number of grants awarded. The foundation said it works with the Staples Guidance Department and local agencies to ensure the financial aid it provides reaches those that need it most.
