Trumbull man allegedly punched St. Vincent’s employee

WESTPORT — A Trumbull man was charged in connection with a 2016 assault at a town health clinic, police said.
Trumbull resident Akieme Murdock, 26, reportedly assaulted an employee of St. Vincent’s Medical Center in March 2016. The victim told Westport police Murdock, who was a patient at St. Vincent’s at the time, punched him six times in the face with a closed fist, resulting in a minor injury.
Following the incident, Westport Police obtained a warrant for Murdock’s arrest. On Oct. 21, the Naugatuck Police Department took Murdock into custody and contacted the Westport Police Department. At Westport headquarters, officers served the active arrest warrant, charging Murdock with third-degree assault.
Murdock was released after posting a $7,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court Oct. 31.
