Updated 7:07 am, Thursday, April 14, 2011
Chua will be interviewed by Roxanne Coady, founder of Read to Grow, owner of R.J. Julia Booksellers and contributor to Faith Middleton's "Book Show" on Connecticut Public Radio stations.
"Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" is a memoir of Chua's experience in "extreme" parenting, revealing the rewards and costs of raising her children "the Chinese way."
The fundraiser and book signing will benefit the programs of Read to Grow, a statewide nonprofit literacy advocacy program.
Tickets including a copy of the book cost $75. Tickets including priority seating, two copies of the book and a pre-event reception with the author beginning at 10:30 a.m. may be bought for $125.
Refreshments will be served and Chua will sign books after the program.
Call Westport Country Playhouse at 203-227-4177 to reserve a seat or for information, or register online at www.westportplayhouse.org under special events/community programs.
