Three juveniles were arrested early Monday and charged with a series of motor vehicle break-ins in the Imperial Avenue area.

The incidents were reported to police about 3:50 a.m. Monday, and officers dispatched to the area found several vehicles were broken into, and the doors left open and dome lights still activated.

A perimeter was set up around the neighborhood as officers searched for suspects. Officer Erin Shaw spotted three juveniles in the area of Compo Road South and Bridge Street. The trio fled from approaching officers, but one was found a short time later on Underhill Parkway and two others were located on the platform of the Saugatuck Railroad Station.

The officers found possession that the juveniles are believed to have stolen from vehicles on Compo Road South, Imperial Avenue and Strathmore Lane, according to the report.

The juveniles -- who were not identified because of their age -- were taken into custody.
