Things to do in Westport this weekend

Spring is here and so is the weekend. With the weather finally starting to warm up a bit, there are plenty of reasons to go out in Westport and enjoy it:
The opening reception for the exhibit of works by the late Eric von Schmidt takes place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Westport Public Library's Great Hall, 20 Jesup Road. Fore! Saturday marks the opening of the town's Longshore Golf Course, so long as the weather cooperates. The Longshore Men's Golf Association will host a course cleanup day beginning at 9:15 a.m. Bring a pair of work gloves and a rake if possible.
