So, you took seriously the Mayan calendar prediction that the world would end Friday, and when it didn't, you found yourself with no plans for the weekend? Not to worry, we've got you covered with a few suggestions in Westport:

Friday night head over to the Blu Parrot, 60 Charles St., to hear Westport's own VooDoo Carnival. Music starts at 9 p.m., admission is free. For more information, call 203-557-9148.

We may not have snow but you can help make "Snowflakes for Sandy Hook Elementary" Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at Anthropologie, 1365 Post Road East. The store will host a snowflake making workshop for all ages and cookies and cocoa will be served. Visit anthropologie.com or call 203-259-0043.

Running out of gift ideas? Visit the Remarkable Gift Shop at the Westport Historical Society, 25 Avery Place, on Saturday or Sunday. You can also wrap up holiday shopping Saturday at the Westport Farmers Market, held at Gilbertie's, 7 Sylvan Lane, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You'll find pastas to pastries for sale. Visit www.westportfarmersmarket.com for more information and a list of vendors.
