Things to do in Westport this weekend

Already had it with holiday shopping, baking and planning? Take a break from the whirlwind this weekend, we've found some fun things to do in Westport:

On Friday, the Voices Cafe at the Unitarian Church, 10 Lyons Plains Road -- a showcase for folk and traditional music -- hosts The Kennedys for an evening of music that starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Visit http://voicescafe.org for more information.

It will be a "Super Saturday" for kids at an experimental collage and mixed-media program at the Westport Arts Center, 51 Riverside Ave. Fun starts at 9 a.m. for youngsters 5 to 8 years old and at 10:30 a.m. those 9 to 12 years old. Head to Bobby Q's Barbeque and Grill, 42 Main St., on Saturday night for some ribs with a side of music by the Mill River Band. Music starts at 10 p.m. Call 203-454-7800 for more information.

On Sunday, the Westport Historical Society, 25 Avery Place, hosts a free Mary Ann Hall holiday concert for a young audience at 2 p.m. More information can be found at westporthistory.org or by calling 203-222-1424.

Looking for something a little more grown up? The Westport Public Library on Sunday hosts Frannie Southworth with "Heart & Soul" at 2 p.m. in the McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road. Admission is free. Call 203-291-4800 for more information or visit westportlibrary.org
