A van with several passengers aboard struck and damaged a Terhune Drive home's garage Wednesday, but no one was injured, according to firefighters.

The incident took place about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the fire report, when the 12-passenger van was dropping off one of its riders.

The van hit the garage on the home's lower level, causing some structural damage, after the driver failed to put the vehicle in park after engaging the emergency brake, he told firefighters. When the brake was released, the van lurched forward into the side of the structure, he said.

The structure was temporarily shored up until permanent repairs are made, firefighters said. The last fire unit left the scene about 5:30 p.m.
