Teen assaulted at underage drinking party

An assault that occurred at what police are describing as an underage drinking party Saturday night left an 18-year-old male in the Intensive Care Unit of Norwalk Hospital.

Westport Police reported that a resident of 76 Hillspoint Road flagged a patrol officer down at approximately 12:51 a.m. Sunday to assist the male victim, who was unconscious in the driveway, with facial and head trauma. He was treated on scene by Westport EMS and then transported to Norwalk Hospital.

According to police, an investigation linked the victim to an underage drinking party at 80 Hillspoint Road. Police said the party was hosted by a Fairfield University freshman and attended by numerous students from Fairfield, Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart universities. Police are continuing to interview attendees of the party as part of the investigation.
