Cuisine from more than a dozen of the area's best-known restaurants and bakeries can be sampled during Clasp Homes eighth annual Taste of Westport on Thursday evening, May 3, at the Westport Inn.

Fine food, drink and deserts will be there for the tasting from 6 to 9 p.m. at the newly renovated inn.

The benefit is the biggest yearly fundraiser for Westport-based Clasp Homes, which provides housing, measures of independence and job-support programs for adults with autism and related disabilities.

The nonprofit's mission is to provide its clients with the dignity it says they deserve as adults, and this year's event coincides with Clasp's 30th anniversary.

Participating restaurants and bakeries are a who's who of Westport dining -- and a few from beyond the borders. The event also will feature live music and silent auction.

Tickets are $75 in advance, $80 at the door.

Food will include a wide variety of tastes provided by Blue Lemon, Bobby Q's, Coromandel, DaPietro's, Matsu Sushi, Riverhouse Tavern, Rizzuto's, Rowayton Seafood, Tarantino's, Tavern on Main, 55 Wine Bar and Restaurant, A dash of Salt, Norm Bloom & Son, CakeSuite and Michele's Pies.

Live music will be provided by the jazz trio, the Carruthers Brothers, and WPLR-FM radio personality Chaz, of the "Chaz and A.J. in the Morning" show, will be the emcee.
