It's a hot and steamy Independence Day.

So top it off with music well suited to that atmosphere: a sweaty performance inspired by the "steamy bayous of southwestern Louisiana" by River City Slim and the Zydeco Hogs.

It surely will be a culture clash that strikes fun fireworks in Westport tonight (Thursday, July 4) when the band rocks out in what promises to be a hot capper to this July 4th with a free performance on Jesup Green.

The show starts at 7 p.m., part of the summer season organized by the Levitt Pavilion.

Spicy gumbo for the ears ... and be prepared to dance!
