State education commissioner to speak March 5

The Democratic Women of Westport will present its annual "Souper Luncheon" at noon Tuesday, March 5, at the home of Elaine and Ernest Arnow, 5 Aspetuck Lane.
Pryor, who attended Yale University and Yale Law School in the 1990s, previously served as deputy mayor for economic development for the city of Newark. He also worked as policy adviser to the mayor of New Haven in the mid-1990s and is co-founder of Amistad Academy, a New Haven charter school.
Pryor will be introduced by Elliott Landon, Westport's superintendant of schools.
Tickets are $20, and may be purchased at the door. Proceeds will benefit the organization's scholarship fund.
