Members of Staples High School's Young Democrats Club left town just after midnight Monday for a whirlwind trip to the second presidential inauguration of Barack Obama in Washington, D.C.

The students were accompanied by Board of Education member Mark Mathias and his family.

After taking in the swearing-in ceremony from the national mall, group's bus was expected to return to Westport by about midnight.
