Staples Players Summer Theatre, in conjunction with Westport Continuing Education, will present Andrew Lloyd Weber's musical, "Jesus Christ Superstar," in the main theater at Staples High School, 70 North Ave.
Performances will take place 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Directors David Roth and Kerry Long have set this production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" in 1967. While the show is known as a rock opera chronicling the last weeks of Jesus' life, both Roth and Long view it less of a religious show than that of a story of the human spirit.
Tickets are available for $10 for students and $15 for adults at www.staplesplayers.com and will also be available at the door, as available, 30 minutes prior to the show. Cash or checks only accepted at the door. Parental guidance is suggested for violence and scenes that may be too intense for children.
Staples Players, an organization at Staples High School, has presented a variety of dramas, musicals, one-act plays, classics and original shows over the past five decades.
