An 11-day trek through 20 Connecticut state parks will end this Sunday at Sherwood Island State Park with a re-enactment on the park's original five acres.
Sherwood Island, the first state park, was commissioned in 1913. The re-enactment begins at 1 p.m.
The Centennial Sojourn to commemorate the 100-year history of the state park system began at Quaddick State Park in Thompson. Other stops for the trekkers -- about 25 people, including Department of Energy and Environmental Protection staff and others -- included the Essex steam train and riverboat, Hammonasset Beach State Park and the Beardsley Zoo. They have traveled by bike, kayak and on foot.
