The town's Commission for Senior Services will hold its annual meeting on Friday, June 8, at 10 a.m. at the Westport Center for Senior Activities located at 21 Imperial Ave.

Topics on the agenda include senior housing and transportation, and an overview of legislative issues affecting senior citizens, according to Westport Human Services Director Barbara Butler.

Fran Reynolds, a who has served as advocate for Westport seniors on local and regional boards, will be presented the town's Service to Older Adults Award.

The meeting is open to the public and light refreshments will be served, Butler said.

Planned discussion includes the proposed senior housing development on the town's Barons South property; L.I.N.K.S. Connections for Independent Living, a new program offering options for seniors to remain in their own homes; and ITN Coastal CT, the new senior-transportation program offering 24-hour, seven-day service.

Butler said state legislators and a representative from the office of U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, D-Conn., are expected to discuss state and federal developments of interest to seniors.
