A new volunteer group that plans to offer Westport senior citizens a variety of services -- such as pre-screened home-maintenance and home-care providers -- has planned two information sessions in May to outline its services.

Links Connections for Independent Living has been endorsed by the Westport Department of Human Services and the Westport Center for Senior Activities, both agencies said.

Information sessions are planned Thursday, May 3, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and Tuesday, May 8, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Both will be at the Links office at 215 Main Street, opposite Veterans Park, the group said in a news release.

The sessions are free and open to the public, but Links asked that those planning to attend reserve a space.

Links Connections described itself as an aging-in-place organization formed by local volunteers to help older adults remain in their homes.

It serves Westport and Weston and offers services its services range from vetting and screening home maintenance providers, health care and home care referrals and computer help, according to the news release. It also plans to offer social, cultural, wellness and educational programs.

To reserve a space at one of the information sessions, call 203-349-5333 or email director@Linksconnections.org.
