Players from the Staples High School boys and girls golf teams will partner with senior citizens next month in a benfit tournament to raise money for fitness equipment at the Westport Center for Senior Activities.

The nine-hole benefit tournament is scheduled for Thursday afternoon, April 4 at the Longshore Club Park Golf Course, the senior center announced.

The Friendship Through Fitness Tournament is open to all seniors age 60 or over.

Foursomes will include two senior citizens and two Staples golfers.

Participants must donate or raise at least $50 and provide their own clubs, the center said.

Golf carts will be provided for free by the town Parks and Recreation Department.

Proceeds will be used to purchase and to maintain fitness equipment at the center, the center said.

To register, visit the center at 21 Imperial Ave. or call it at 203-341-5099. Tax-deductible checks should be payable to "Friends of WCSA."
