Senior center plans activities

The Westport Center for Senior Activities announces the following upcoming events:
Tuesday, July 9: A talk by a representative of the Arthritis Foundation, "Let's Move Together with Arthritis," is planned from 1 to 2 p.m. Sue Nesci will discuss arthritis warning signs, prevention, diagnosis, treatments and self-management techniques, including techniques to keep you moving with arthritis.
Thursday, July 11: The film "Silver Linings Playbook" will be shown on the center's large screen in the media room, starting at 5:30 p.m. A light supper of sandwich wraps, chips and beverages will be offered at 5 p.m. The film is about a former teacher, Pat Solitano, who has been released from a mental institution, the center said. He moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife, but things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own. The cost for this event is $6.
Saturday, July 13: A lunch and musical program are planned from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The menu includes shrimp salad and salmon salad over greens, with coleslaw and ice cream. Following lunch, violinist and vocalist Heather Hardy will perform.
