The Westport center for Senior Activities, 21 Imperial Ave., has announced the following activities and programs:

Saturday, Nov. 1: Eric Sierra, chief at Rive Bistro, will conduct a cooking class and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The class will prepare chicken breast dijonaise with a goat cheese polenta, sauteed kale with fresh fruit with sabayon sauce. The cost is $25 per person, and pre-registration and pre-payment are required.

Wednesday, Nov. 5: Westport author Catherine Onyemelukwe will discuss her new memoir, "Nigeria Revisited: My Life and Loves Abroad," from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The program is free.

Onyemelukwe lived in Nigeria for 24 years, and will talk about the country's history, entertainment, culture and recent issues, such as the Ebola virus and kidnapped Chibok school girls.

Thursday, Nov. 6: A dinner and a movie program from 3:15 to 6 p.m. will feature screening of the documentary "20 Feet from Stardom," followed by a light supper. The film is about five backup singers and includes interviews with some of the music superstars with whom they have performed. It won the 2013 Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary. The cost is $6 for the movie and supper, $3 for the movie only. Reservations are required.

Military veteran Jay Dirnberger will discuss the history of unmanned aerial drones and their modern-day commercial applications during a free program from 5 to 6 p.m. He had experience with drones while serving in Vietnam.
