The Westport Center for Senior Activities has announced the following events during the week of Sept. 30:
Monday, Sept. 30: The AARP Safe Driver's Course will be offered from noon to 4 p.m. The course covers trends and safety tips pertinent to older drivers, the center said, and may qualify some drivers for reduced insurance premiums.The cost is $12 for AARP members, $14 for non-members, Checks should be payable to "AARP."
Thursday, Oct. 3: A class on making hand-stamped greeting cards will be offered from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Local craft shop owner Joyce Bottone will lead the class in producing five holiday cards, the center said. The cost is $5 and includes all materials.
Thursday, Oct. 3: A movie and supper program will be offered. The film "Guilt Trip" will be screened at 3:15 p.m., followed by 5: 30 p.m. by a supper of sandwich wraps, chips and beverages. The 2012 comedic drama stars Seth Rogen as Andy, an inventor trying to get his cleaning product into a major retail chain, and Barbara Streisand as his overbearing mother, Joyce. When Andy mentions he is about to embark on a cross-country trip, Joyce guilts him into taking her along. Cost for the program is $6.
