The Westport Center for Senior Activities has announced the following upcoming programs at the center, 21 Imperial Ave..
Monday, June 10: Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County will offer a workshop from 10 to 11 a.m. titled "Living Life and Coping with Stress." Licensed professional counselor Nanette Greene will discuss how stress is implicated with illness and offer techniques to relax and achieve balance through life's ups and downs, the senior center said.
Wednesday, June 12: An open discussion of gardening is planned from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Diane Ringelheim, a graduate of the University of Connecticut's master gardener program, will open the discussion with a topic of current interest, the center said.
Thursday, June 13: Registered dietician Holly Betts will conduct a cooking from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The class will prepare strawberry chicken and romaine salad with citrus garden tea cake. Cost is $6.
Saturday, June 15: The center's first barbecue of the season is planned from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans and watermelon. Entertainment will be provided by "Wreckers in Tune," a group of Staples High School musicians. Cost is $8.
