Senior center announces activities

The Westport Center for Senior Activities announces the following events at its 21 Imperial Ave. facility:
Tuesday, May 14: Lisa Arnold, a former local artist, will discuss "Wayne Tiebaud -- Painter of All Things Whimsical, Especially Desserts" from 1 to 3 p.m. Tiebaud's work, characterized by playful subject matters, saturated color, and thick application of paint, has appeared in the New Yorker and galleries throughout the country.
Wednesday, May 15: Holly Betts, a registered dietitian, will give a talk on "Spice Advice" from 11 to 11:30 a.m. She will talk about how sodium can increase the risk for high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.
Thursday, May 16: Kristin Carpenter, a licensed clinical social worker with Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, will offer a workshop on "Love at Every Age" from 1 to 2 p.m. She will discuss old myths about love, intimacy and aging.
Saturday, May 18: A "Saturday Social" will take place from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. It will include a lunch of lemon pepper chicken, scalloped potatoes, butternut squash, a salad, dessert and beverage. After lunch, "Wreckers in Tune," a new music club featuring Staples High School students, will perform. The cost is $7.
