The Westport Center for Senior Activities announces the following events at its 21 Imperial Ave. facility:
Monday, April 29: An AARP safe drivers course for older drivers will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Cost is $12 for AARP members, $14 for nonmembers. Make checks payable to AARP.
Wednesday, May 1: The Infoshred van will be in the center's parking lot from 9 to 11 a.m. Seniors may bring personal documents they no longer need for safe shredding.
Wednesday, May 1: Patricia Blaufuss, Westport Country Playhouse's public relations manager and resident historian, will share historical anecdotes and facts about the playhouse from 10 to 11:30 a.m. A video preview of the 2013 season will be shown.
Thursday, May 2: Artist Joyce Bottone will teach a class on the art of stamping from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Materials will be supplied to hand-stamp five all-occasion cards. Cost is $5.
Thursday, May 2: The movie "Argo" will be shown at 5:30 p.m., preceded by a supper of sandwich wraps, chips and beverages at 5 p.m. Cost is $6.
Saturday, May 4: Holistic health expert Jeanne Licurse will demonstrate how to make a meal of red cabbage, pear and pecan salad, miso soup with scallions and brown rice and maple pecan cookies from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is $6.
Saturday, May 4: An open house with raffles and light refreshments will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Attendees will have a chance to meet the center's instructors and ask questions.
