G. Kenneth Bernhard, of Westport, will discuss his work with the Tree of Life Orphanage in Haiti at the Westport Sunrise Rotary breakfast meeting on Friday, Aug. 16.

The meeting will take place at 7:30 a.m. at Bobby Q's, 42 Main St. The meeting is open to the public with a $12 fee, which includes breakfast.

The nonprofit Tree of Life Orphanage and its school provide food, clothing, medical care and education for 31 children, Sunrise Rotary said in a news release. Bernhard, a local lawyer, was involved in establishing a nonprofit corporation to raise money, and the new orphanage opened earlier this summer.

His talk will focus on conditions in Haiti since the 2010 earthquake and the orphanage.
