Ridgefield two wins away from hockey championship

RIDGEFIELD - The Ridgefield boys varsity hockey team takes on Hamden tonight in the semifinals of the Division I playoffs.

If Ridgefield wins, they will advance to the state championship game.

The fourth-seeded Ridgefield Tigers have a record of 21-4-0.

Hamden, meanwhile, is a perennial powerhouse, with a record of 17-3-2.

They are also the tournament's top seed - plus, they eliminated Ridgefield from the 2005 tournament with a 3-1 first round victory.

The game starts at 7:30 p.m. at Yale's Ingalls Rink.
