Ridgefield girls win sixth straight Central Division indoor track crown

WESTPORT -- The Ridgefield High girls indoor track and field team captured its sixth consecutive FCIAC Central Division championship on Saturday.

The Tigers scored 182 points to beat second-place Staples by 44 points. Ridgefield swept the top four spots in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters. Katherine Howley won both events, posting a time of 5:27.22 in the 1,600 and 12:04.54 in the 3,200. Isabella Corso took second in both events with a 5:32.40 in the 1,600 and a 13:03.95 in the 3,200. Kori Krichko took third in the 3,200 (13:05.88) and fourth in the 1,600 (5:39.38), while Jenna McClane took third in the 1,600 (5:36.37) and fourth in the 3,200 (13:06.33). Ridgefield's Kelly Jorgenson cleared 4-10 to win the high jump, while Hannah Robbertz jumped 16-3.75 to win the long jump. Kelly Baker won the 600 in 1:43.51. Madison Missinne took second in both the 300 (44.59) and the 50 (6.97). The Tigers also won the 4x400 relay (4:28.31), the 4x240 relay (2:20.64) and the 4x800 relay (10:59.94). Boys indoor track Tigers take second WESTPORT -- The Ridgefield boys placed second in the FCIAC Central Division championships. The Tigers' 104.5 points were 81 behind first-place Staples. Christian Kearns won the 3,200 (10:21.84) and the 1,600 (4:41.05) for the Tigers. Austin Von Ohlsen won the 300 by just four-hundredths of a second (37.25) and Shaun Roche won the shot put (42-5). Ridgefield also won the 4x800 relay by four-hundredths of a second (9:07.86).
