Go Green. Help keep Westport clean.
That's what town officials are asking Westport residents to do Saturday for the annual Green-up Westport Day.
"A letter has been sent to 60 civic organizations and community groups asking for help and cooperation organizing the clean-up and in picking adopted cleanup spots," Stuart McCarthy, the town's parks and recreation director, said in a press release.
In addition to the organized cleanups efforts, the Green-up Westport Day committee asks individual property owners to help the cause by cleaning up litter along their street or nearby public spaces.
At the conclusion, town crews will collect bagged garbage and debris from the designated cleanup spots.
Groups should specify the time of their cleanups by calling the Parks & Recreation Department at 203-341-5091 before Saturday.
Free trash bags can be picked up Saturday, between 9 and 11 a.m., at Jesup Green, where Beautification Committee volunteers will stage their cleanup.
