Record-setting performance by Danbury boys

The Hatters' 4x800 relay team of Doug Ronan, Will Ahearn, Justin Rau and Parker Boudreau took first with a time of 7:42.86, which set the school, Connecticut and New England records. Matt Terry placed first in the 3,200 meters with a time of 9:08, setting the school and FCIAC records.

Mike Lorick placed second in the 200 (21.92) and Parker Boudreau took second in the 800 (1:55.23). The Hatters' 4x100 relay team of Yona Horn, Lorick, Nick Rosa and Manuel Omokaro placed second (43.08), while the 4x400 relay team of CodyRafael, Mike Danzy, Rosa and Lorick finished sixth (3:23.78). Justin Chiaravalle placed seventh in the 110 hurdles (15.24) and Brian LeBlanc took seventh in the shot put (52-10.75).

Danbury will be competing in the Nike Nationals from June 13-15 in six events -- the 4x200, 4x800, 4x400, distance medley relay, sprint medley relay and open 3,200 meters.

CHSCA All-Stars

The Connecticut High School Coaches Association will sponsor its 34th annual all-star baseball games on June 12 and 13 at Plainville High. On June 12, District IV will play District II at 5 p.m. and District I will play District III at 7:30 p.m. The two winning districts will play June 13 at 5 p.m. The top 18 players from the all-star games will be chosen to represent Connecticut in a game against Massachusetts. The District II team will include Billy Hood of Ridgefield, Ryan McGrath of Newtown and Matt Petrini of Immaculate. Brian Lemay of Pomperaug will play for District III. Also on June 13, the CHSCA will sponsor its Junior Select Game at 7:30 p.m. at Plainville High. Immaculate High coach Tom Neville will coach the West team.
