A Bethel woman is facing charges following a motor vehicle stop early Sunday.

Caitlin Messina, 28, of Nashville Road in Bethel, was charged with second-degree failure to appear.

Messina was stopped by police at 1:26 a.m. Sunday after she was seen driving on Post Road West without a front registration plate and a defective rear marker plate lamp, according to a police report.

Officers learned she had an active arrest warrant for second-degree failure to appear for failing to report to court on March 8, the report said.

She was released after posting a $100 cash bond. She is scheduled to appear Nov. 26 in Derby Superior Court.
