Invited guests on Friday night got an appetizing preview of the highly anticipated downtown restaurant, Post 154, opening in the former Post Office building at 154 Post Road East.
Housed in the circa-1935 brick building, the new restaurant was abuzz with curious patrons and a fresh staff eager to answer questions.
The restaurant is set to open to the public Wednesday.
Valet paring was provided for guests, and smart yellow awnings have been added over the tall windows facing the street. New patio seating is located on the left side of the structure where a small patch of green once was.
"It's not about the owners, it's about the executive chef Alex Rosado," Mark Moeller restaurant consultant/ manager, said of the restaurant's fare. "We are ecstatic to be open, we are grateful to be part of this community, we are here to make everybody as happy as they can be and bring them world-class cuisine."
Indoors, the renovations have transformed the former postal facilities into private dining rooms, comfortable bar seating, tall ceilings and multiple seating areas.
Rosado previously told the Westport News the his kitchen will be preparing "world-class, creative cuisine. Very elegant and flavorful. A little bit of everything.
