Home burglary charges

Lee Bates, 25, of Hales Court, was arrested Monday on three counts of third-degree burglary and three counts of second-degree larceny.

Bates was arrested at Norwalk Superior Court, where he was appearing on unrelated charges. He allegedly robbed three Westport homes in May and June earlier this year.

Bates' bail was set at $60,000, and he is scheduled to appear July 8 in Norwalk Superior Court.

Security officer charged with defrauding store

Keith Burke, 37, of Bethel was arrested about 8 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of first-degree larceny.

Burke turned himself in at the Westport Police Department after being told there was a warrant for his arrest. Burke, a former loss-prevention manager of Williams-Sonoma on 136 Main St., allegedly made fraudulent refund transactions and pocketed approximately $32,000, police said.

Burke's bail was set at $10,000 and he is scheduled to appear July 9 in Norwalk Superior Court.
