WESTPORT — A town man was charged with drunk driving after police said he crashed his car into the front of a house on Hales Court.
Danny Oliva, 22, was arrested Tuesday night on charges of operating under influence of alcohol and operating a vehicle under suspension.
Westport Police were advised at 10:15 p.m. Dec. 12 of a vehicle that had driven into the front of a building and the operator was attempting to leave.
Officers located the vehicle up against the front steps of the home and identified Oliva as the operator, who, police said, had an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and difficulty standing upon exiting the vehicle.
Olivia consumed alcohol earlier in the evening, officers learned. They also observed minor damage on the vehicle and stair railing of the residence.
He was released on promise to appear in Norwalk Court Dec. 21.
