Westport Country Playhouse will host its third annual open house, "Playhouse Community Day," from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the playhouse, 25 Powers Court.

The free event will include family activities, backstage tours, displays and historic artifacts, insight on the upcoming 2012 season and ticket discounts throughout the day, according to a playhouse news release. Guests will have an opportunity to take a look backstage, with tours led every hour beginning at 10:15 a.m. in the Jason Robards Theatre. Production materials, including set models and sketches, as well as theatrical costumes, will be on display.

In addition, Westport Public Library will offer a story time with fairy tales related to the playhouse's coming production of the musical "Into the Woods," and David Kennedy, playhouse associate artistic director, will host talks about the 2012 season throughout the day.

Admission will be free and open to the public. There will be complimentary snacks and beverages, including food available for purchase.
