Jazz pianist Joe Utterback will perform Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Westport Library.

The free performance is set for 2 p.m. in the library's McManus Room. In addition to jazz classics, his repertoire will include blues, ballads and Broadway selections.

Utterback has performed at events ranging from Tony Awards dinners in New York City to music festivals across the nation.

A professor for more than 20 years at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, he has been music director and organist at First Congregational Church in Stratford since 1996. He also has created jazz-influenced works for piano, organ, harpsichord, voice and instrumental combinations, which have won him ASCAP awards, according to the library. His more than 225 compositions have been performed in concert venues and in church services worldwide.
