Keegan and Denner reportedly left the store with a shopping cart with bags of items for which they had not paid. An officer later saw Keegan and Denner walking east on Post Road East near the Fairfield town line with two green Stop & Shop bags, police said. They were then taken into custody.
Police said they then also discovered a warrant for a failure-to-appear charge for Keegan that had been issued by New Milford police.
Keegan and Denner were both charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy. Keegan was also charged with second-degree failure to appear.
Both Keegan and Denner were held on a $500 bond for the larceny charges; Keegan had an additional bond of $3,500 for the failure-to-appear charge. Denner was later released when his bond was reduced to a promise to appear by the bail commissioner.
Keegan remained in custody and was transported Monday to Norwalk Superior Court arraignment. Deenan is scheduled to appear April 16 in Norwalk Superior Court.
