ADONIA R. STARZYK

Adonia R. Starzyk, 95, of Fairfield, died Jan. 18, 2010, in the company of her sisters.

Born Feb. 13, 1914, in Springfield, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Paul and Antonia Starzyk.

Starzyk had resided in New York City for 60 years prior to moving to Bridgeport 15 years ago and then Fairfield in January of 2009. A woman who was very much involved in the arts, she was an amateur artist and loved to play the violin and piano. She also sang in several church choirs in New York City and the Oratorio Choir in Bridgeport. Her kind and loving nature will always be treasured by her family and friends.

Survivors include two sisters, Eugenia Reale and her husband, Art of Westport, and Dorothy Starzyk of Fairfield; one brother, Michael Starzyk and his wife, Galy of Westport; and seven nieces and one nephew.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Starzyk and Cecelia Claire, and one brother, Stanley Starzyk.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road E., Westport, Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
