The Westport Weston Cooperative Nursery School's eighth annual Touch-A-Truck event will take place rain or shine Saturday, March 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Coleytown Elementary School, 65 Easton Road.

The event, to benefit the nonprofit school, will feature more than 25 vehicles, including construction and service trucks such as a giant tow truck, propane truck, garbage truck and large tractor trailer. Emergency vehicles, including those used by SWAT teams, as well as other automobiles such as classic cars, a transit bus and a Mercedes Sprinter Van will also be on display.

It will also feature a tent by sponsors Melissa & Doug offering kids' activities and giveaways, "The Roaming Railroad: Train Rides for Kids," a bounce house and face painting.

The event will start with a "quiet hour" of no horns from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for truck lovers with more sensitive auditory nerves.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from JR's Weenie Mobile, Naples Restaurant pizza truck and Skip's Ice Cream Co. In addition, there will be baked goods, hot chocolate and coffee.

Admission is $20 for families of six members or fewer.
